Privacy policy: AI Shopping Readiness Checker for Shopify

The AI Shopping Readiness Checker (“the extension”) is made by the team behind Surfaced. In short: it collects nothing.

What the extension does not do

• It does not collect, store, sell or share personal data.
• It does not send browsing history, page contents, scan results or any other data to us or anyone else.
• It has no analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking.
• It does not use or read cookies or logins on any site.
• It does not run in the background or on pages you haven’t clicked it on.
• It loads no remote code.

What happens when you use it

When you click the extension on a website, it checks whether the page is a Shopify store. If you click Check AI readiness, it reads that store’s public pages (the product feed, robots.txt, llms.txt, policy pages and one product page). Requests go only to the store you are viewing, without credentials. The score is calculated in your browser and discarded when you close the popup. “Download CSV” and “Copy report” create the file or text on your device only.

Permissions

The extension uses activeTab and scripting, and may ask for optional access to the current store’s website only after you click. You can remove site access at any time from chrome://extensions.

Links

The “Fix these automatically with Surfaced” button opens the Surfaced listing on the Shopify App Store with utm_source=chrome_extension. It carries no information about you or the store you scanned.
